Half or Whole Cow – Fill Your Freezer with Grass-Fed Beef
Looking to stock your freezer with ethically raised, 100% grass-fed beef? Our wholesale half and whole cow shares are a cost-effective way to nourish your household year-round with meat you can trust.
What You’re Buying:
This is beef from our pasture-raised Ayrshire cattle, raised on our family farm with rotational grazing, no antibiotics, no hormones, and plenty of time to mature—typically 22–24 months. That slow, grass-fed growth produces beef that’s rich, flavorful, and beautifully marbled.
Pricing:
$6.00/lb hanging weight – includes slaughter + custom processing by a USDA-inspected butcher
$5.00/lb hanging weight – if you prefer your half delivered unprocessed (whole cuts, not wrapped or portioned)
Weight & Yield:
Our cattle typically have a hanging weight of 1,000–1,200 lbs for a whole animal, which breaks down approximately as follows:
The take-home yield of a whole cow will probably be around 500 - 700 lbs of packaged meat.
The take-home yield of half a cow will probably be around 250 - 350 lbs of packaged meat.
Note: Yield depends on cut preferences, bone-in vs. boneless choices, and fat trimming.
Freezer Space:
Half cow: 7–9 cubic feet
Whole cow: 14–18 cubic feet
You’ll need a chest or upright freezer to comfortably store your share.
Processing & Pickup:
We butcher from August through early October. Once your cow is scheduled, we’ll contact you with next steps—including pickup location (usually at the farm or our local butcher in Newfield, NY), your cut sheet options, and a final invoice based on actual hanging weight.
You can choose a standard cut sheet or customize your cuts (e.g. how thick you want your steaks, roast sizes, more ground vs. more stew meat, etc.). We’re happy to walk you through the process if it’s your first time!
Ready to Pre-Order?
A down payment secures your share. The remainder will be due after the animal is processed and final hanging weight is recorded.
Let us help fill your freezer with nutrient-dense, transparently raised meat—from our pastures to your plate.
